Lola is not a shoe girl

With the recent snow and resulting slushy and salty sidewalks I decided to dig out the boots that Emma bequeathed to Lola.

We started slow and spent some time just hanging out with a boot or two on in the house. No problems.

Then I got Lola ready for SociaBulls on Sunday morning. I put on all four boots.

She wouldn't budge.

I put on her coat and leash and got ready to go.

Notice, she's still in the EXACT same spot.

I finally got her to follow me into the next room, and eventually into the car. She did pretty well with the boots on during the walk. She slipped a few times on icy patches, but kept 3 boots on for the whole walk, and didn't protest when I put the one that fell off back on.

She's wearing Muttluks. Has anyone had better luck with another brand? The primary problem she had was the boots flipping upside down, so the soles faced up.

  1. I love statue Lola! Miss M did this the first we put the boots on her; she wouldn't even move when we started throwing treats in front of her. We have had problems with our Muttluks staying on, though I saw one of the dogs was using painters tape because it doesn't pull at the fur.

    1. Maybe I'll try painter's tape. and maybe some double stick tape to keep them from flipping around on her!

  2. That's hilarious. I haven't tried regular boots before...Zoe just uses those rubber ones. P.S. Can't wait to see the YBHome finished painting!

    1. I tried the rubber ones once, they didn't work at all, but maybe now that she's all grown up I'll give it another shot. I still have a bunch of them.

And come back on Friday for the YBH unveiling of not one, but two portraits!
